New York City - Business Development Manager (BDM)
Position Overview:
The primary role of the New York BDM is to implement the Company’s route-to-market strategy with assigned partners, primarily our Independent Operators, in order to expand portfolio availability, grow product sales, improve customer value delivery and create overall system competitive advantage.  The NYC BDM will fulfill their role through the development of value based relationships with our distributors, members of the distribution network, and their respective retail customers, consistent with company and distributor principles.  The position is responsible for distributor leadership and guidance as related to the sale and distribution of all Company products and formats which may be handled by the master distributor.  The position is also responsible for achieving superior distributor execution of route-to-market model responsibilities as defined in the distributor business plan and agreement.
Territory management scope includes all of the following:  All company products and chilled package formats sold through our distributor network, including Master Distributor, Independent Operators, Dairies, Natural Food Distributors, Grocery & Specialty Distributors, all channels of retail sales, and all geographies within the 5 boroughs of New York and Long Island.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage/motivate a three person sales team, including Acosta and company resources to achieve market/account goals within respective geography
Utilize Collaborating for Value skills and principles to develop value based relationships with all key decision influencers within assigned members of the New York City distribution network
Develop, implement and steward annual business plans with assigned distributors, which fulfill against company/system and distributor strategies and create value for both parties
Utilize system, distributor, customer and shopper insights to identify opportunities related to expansion of availability/sales, implementation of defined RTM models and creation of customer/system value.
Utilized advanced collaboration and negotiation skills to develop strategic partnerships with select distributors (as directed)
Collaborate and partner with CCR resources within geographic area of responsibility to facilitate greater presence/support with key retail partners by leveraging the entire CCR portfolio
Identify opportunities and facilitate development of distributor capabilities required to efficiently/effectively implement the defined strategies and RTM models
Ensure consistent application of foundational Company practices and policies (e.g.: operations/quality, administration and customer interaction).
Act as the subject matter expert and provide guidance/training for all activities related to assigned distributors.
Execute an on-going process to evaluate and manage system/distributor performance against critical business metrics in order to identify areas of opportunity and vulnerability.
Develop compelling, fact based retail and distributor proposals to expand the portfolio, implement key initiatives, build system capabilities, and drive progress toward common business objectives.
Actively facilitate distributor dialogue with specific Company/system functions as need/opportunity arises

Bachelor's Degree required
Related Work Experience:  
Minimum 6 years’ experience in one or more of the following areas:
Chain customer sales (Retail)
Bottler/Franchise Management
Distributor Management
Any of the above with Northeast or New York City (preferred)

Understanding of the relationship between the Company, out master distributor  and members of the distributor network relative to roles and distribution rights
Knowledge of foundational commercial leadership principles
Understanding of current and potential channels of trade, their unique operational nuances, challenges and opportunities
