Description:

The Director, Cold Drink Equipment Engineering, leads the global team responsible for research in the areas of cold drink equipment and technologies to drive growth for TCCC. The leader will establish a vision and strategies for breakthrough equipment research, and will develop an external partner network to support the internal team to drive breakthrough, consumer and customer preferred solutions. The leader will also have exceptional business acumen, enabling s/he to operate credibly with senior most operating leaders.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities
• Provide both technical and organizational leadership on delivering key global R&D initiatives and developing a strong pipeline of transformational equipment solutions.
• Accountable for multiple high-profile projects that involve cross-functional teams. Includes the ability to manage large budgets, broad scopes, multiple suppliers and/or team members from partner companies.
• Develop and apply technical knowledge and establish credibility with highly technical audiences in order to build technical relationships that will benefit customers or the Company.
• Engineering Analysis: Apply analytical engineering tools including critical path problem solving, fault tree analysis and root cause failure analysis for the purpose of determining design feasibility and identifying sources of variation from designed performance specifications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project progress and maximize value to the System.
• Leverage subject matter expertise across global equipment network and Global Engineering. 
• Design, prototype & assess Cold Drink Equipment technologies and concepts to product and process specifications, as well as develop value chain and economic feasibility analysis for candidate solutions.
• Direct and guide the activities of the Cold Drink Equipment team, including responsibility for team member career development, ensuring optimal use of resources, proactively managing processes and managing the Cold Drink Equipment budget.
Education Requirements: 
M.S. Required, Ph.D. Preferred in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
Related Work Experience:   
• The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of relevant experience, including managerial experience, with a large global or multinational company and/or an organization known for its knowledge and experience in developing world-class business enabling R&D.
• Unique mix of instant professional credibility and personal power, including the ability to establish new projects based on defining and effectively communicating a compelling combination of consumer need, technical solutions and business opportunity.
• Track record of developing and commercializing significant new equipment technologies to solve & drive business objectives.
• Expert knowledge of relevant physical phenomenon, including thermodynamics, and energy & mass transfer.
• Experience effectively positioning technology through all phases of development, from R&D to commercialization with clarity around probability to achieve technical goals.
• Track record of managing and executing strategies across the supply chain to create capabilities for future innovation. Of high importance is the ability to lead internal R&D programs to create & commercialize disruptive technology that leverages SC, and/or secure advantaged technology from suppliers.
• IP and Confidentiality: Experience managing confidentiality, handling agreements, and comfort with advanced patent searching techniques. The ideal candidate will have multiple patents/ applications for commercialized technology.
