Position Overview:

The Global Event Manager (GEM) will collaborate with stakeholder groups across the enterprise to manage the strategic development, design, sourcing, execution and post-event process of meetings and hospitality events that maximum value to the organization. The GEM will manage multiple projects (potentially 10+ at a time) with varying degrees of complexity. Project management work will include (but not limited to) creating and leading logistics and production teams, collaborating with internal associates and external partners, managing project timelines, and contract negotiations. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Strategic Meetings & Events, and will work with extended team members within The Coca-Cola Company system.  

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities: 
Develop relationships with business leaders to proactively assess future needs and opportunities for strategic alignment
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure goals and objectives are clear and agreed upon. Specify actions, time frames and performance measurement needed to achieve goals
Develop and manage a strategic project plan with established milestones and critical path
Once objectives are identified and a project plan is created, the GEM will create team of internal associates and external suppliers that will delivery against these objectives
GEM is responsible for delivering objectives within budget and ensuring project timeline is progressing, but is also responsible for managing the workload among his/her team.

Education Requirements: University / Bachelor degree is required 

Related Work Experience:
10 Years of Event Management experience with global experience, diverse industry knowledge; hotel experience, destination management or relevant related field experience - sports marketing helpful 
8-10 Years of vendor negotiation and management experience 
Bilingual/multilingual favorable 
Certification in Meetings Management (CMM) desired
Strategic knowledge of consumer goods and branding preferred 
Experience in managing teams across geographic and organizational boundaries
Proven ability to read, edit, negotiate, and interpret contractual documentation, including the ability to manage performance to contracts and agreements.

Travel: 25-40% domestic and international travel may be required. Additionally, weekend and evening work will be required depending on events being supported.

Develop and maintain partnerships with external senior management stakeholders (e.g., senior management) in order to influence business decision-making.
Manage and direct all phases of complex programs from inception to completion, using join leadership model with natural business owner including identifying and acquiring cross-functional resources, developing the overall innovation project business case, resolving conflicts, identifying and developing contingency plans, communicating decisions and progress to key stakeholders, and preparing materials for Stage Gate (new innovation process) reviews.
