Description:

The Connections-Media Manager will be instrumental in furthering Integrated Marketing Communications team capability, in line with the WMO strategy for the market. The position will have the combined functional accountabilities of Media Management and implementation of the Connections Planning Process across the total portfolio.
The role will assist the IMC Director in the stewardship and implementation of the Connections Planning Process across the portfolio. In conjunction with the media agency AOR partner and other IMC team members (Content, Digital, Shopper, Promo/Activations), the position is expected to deliver brilliant results in all Liquid Idea amplification and impactful Connection Planning & and full IMC plan execution, with emphasis on media (paid, owned, and earned).
S/he will manage total portfolio media management approach, as it relates specifically to media planning/buying; ensuring media strategies are aligned with brand objectives -- track against milestones and manage budgets for all media related activities within key initiatives/programs in line with EBP and brand priorities.
Partner with the BU Connections Planning lead and leverage the expertise with constant experimentation to raise the bar and maximize the opportunity given dramatic changes in media and technology landscape.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prioritized Responsibilities
Connection Planning Process Implementation: Assist the IMC Director in the stewardship and implementation of the Connections Planning Process across the portfolio. Partner with local Content Manager and media agency partner to amplify the Liquid Idea into key connection points with emphasis on media (paid, owned, earned). Apply best media practices from global/regional sources and implement emerging media frameworks (paid, free, and owned media). 
Media Strategy Development: partner with local / group Brand teams & IMC teams, and agency partners to optimize media investment strategies and plans. Analyze media impact on core brand & business metrics; develop and implement media strategy, ultimately generating greater effectiveness and efficiencies of our IMC plans
Media Agency Relationship Management: Lead media agency relationship, managing resource allocation and quality control (timing, cost, creative delivery). Maintains contacts within the media industry. Participate in the negotiation and maintains relationship with media suppliers.
Connections Plan Execution: Lead full execution of media plans within the Connections plans—ensuring clear links to the Liquid Idea and leveraging brand strategies. Manage clear processes/routines with key partners (eg bottler, agencies, etc) to ensure plans are executed on time/ in-budget and coordinated across key constituents as needed. Manage clear execution and related “post-mortems”. 
Media Productivity: Drive Media Productivity across the portfolio, to ensure optimized media investments.

COMMUNICATION COMPLEXITIES
Local Brand Team:
Lead media plan development by leveraging local media insights and ensure that brand messages are activated through targeted, relevant, and strategically-aligned media contact points to build brand values and drive profitable volume.
Local Agency Team:
Lead and provide direction to the media agency (based on the approved IMC Plan) , and manage day-to-day requirements with the media agency based on agreed protocol and processes for faster turnaround of requirements. 
Actively participate during IMC Director’s management of annual assessment process and remuneration / contract negotiations with the Media Agency-of-Record..
Internal Support / Process Management –
Brand, IMC, Commercial, Bottler, PAC, Agencies.
Assist the IMC Director in the stewardship and implementation of the Connections Planning Process to amplify the Liquid Idea across various connection points.
Lead presentation of Media Plan across the system (ie Brand, FCL, Bottler, Philippines Senior Leadership)
Work collaboratively with other functional leads (ie PAC, Legal) in integrating key initiatives in the media plan.
KO Finance – Manage day-to-day media financial processes to ensure accuracy of media documents, prompt payment to the media, etc.
Partner with BU Connections Planning to continue building capabilities and drive experimentation to raise the bar in how we implement our programs
Industry Representation:
Helps in establishing and maintaining contacts within the media industry. Maintains relationship with various media suppliers. 
Active support role to the IMC Director during media rate negotiations.
Global and Local Market KO Connections / Media Representation –
Functionally reports and manages requirements from ASEAN Connections Planning Director and Global Media Director.
Attend and actively participate in KO Media Meetings / Conference. 
Evaluate and adapt best practices from new media learning, guidelines, and other countries to enhance media effectiveness, efficiency, and creativity.

ANALYSIS
Proficient-Expert level in media analytics to identify and optimize media investment strategies and plans to connect with our consumers. Analyze media impact on core brand metrics and business metrics.
Proficient-Expert level in leveraging financial rigor to prioritize and allocate resources effectively. 
Proficient-Expert level in measuring financial and equity impact of investments and institutionalizes learnings

JUDGMENT AND DECISION MAKING
Lead development, judgement and ability to evaluate the Media Plan prior to the approval of the IMC Director, Category Head and Marketing Director.
Decision-making accountability impacting 60-70% of total IMC DME (based on % allocated to ATL Media). 
Critical judgement on day-to-day requirements with the agency based on agreed protocol and processes impacting 40% of Total Marketing DME.

INNOVATION
Expected to re-apply best media practices from global/regional sources and implement emerging media frameworks (paid, free, and owned media).


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Reports: None. Extensive project management and general coaching and mentoring within team expected. Direct management media agency.
Decision Making: Accountability over media critical investments within specific programs

RELATED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years critical experience in Media, IMC, DME Management, demonstrated understanding of media landscape in the given market is a must – either from client, agency or media industry experience. (Note: Minimum 8 years experience for Top 22 markets).

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Bachelors / University Degree


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years critical experience in Media, IMC, DME Management, demonstrated understanding of media landscape in the given market is a must – either from client, agency or media industry experience. (Note: Minimum 8 years experience for Top 22 markets).


TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
Local Travel : Media monitoring (30%); Internation:  Media Workshops (5-10%)


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The Connections-Media Manager role will assist the IMC Director and work with the other IMC members in the implementation of the Connections Planning Process across brands. At the same time, s/he will be the one who will go deeper into development and implementation of media strategies. This role should therefore be able to actively lead and engage various cross functional team (Marketing –Brand, Content, Digital, Shopper, Promo/Activations; Commercial, Bottlers, K&I, Agencies).
The role will manage the day-to-day media requirements & interaction between the Company and the media agency. Overall in charge of Media Plan: Pre-plan to Post-plan evaluations and analyses. Ensures that Media Competitive Tracking & Analyses Reports are disseminated to the System. Identify opportunities for technical and strategic media support to other areas within the operation in terms of training, discussions, etc.
Expected to work collaboratively with K&I and Agency in conducting media research, and leveraging existing media tools (ie TV Awareness Tool, Optimix with B3^, etc).
