Job Title: Sr Specification Specialist (Formulas and Ingredients)

Description:

The Sr. Specification Specialist supports the facilitation of formula and ingredient management processes including issuance, updates, and obsolescence of formulas and ingredients.  The Sr. Specialist has accountability for data audits and continuous process improvements.  The position reports to Director, Formula and Ingredient Management and works internally with team members, R&D, SRA, Commercial Product Supply and Business Units.    
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities
Review formula issuance and obsolescence requests from the business and prepare documentation including formula updates and Country of Sale documents for new countries authorized to sell products along with beverage base supply information.
Review ingredient documentation for new ingredient approvals to ensure accuracy of supplier information, assess updates made by suppliers for impact to business and recommend actions and maintain ingredient sourcing information.
Conduct risk-based data audits on formulas and ingredients to verify conformance to Company requirements, recommend corrective actions and follow-up to ensure appropriate actions have been taken to achieve compliance.
Maintain and update Picasso, support optimization of Formula and Ingredient Management processes and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of processes and tools to automate and increase efficiencies.
Conduct special ingredient and formula analyses to support recommendations and business decisions.
Protect TCCC trade secrets (product formulations and flavor information)
Communicate externally with ingredient suppliers and internally with formula and ingredient users to solve issues and provide training.
Support routine reporting of metrics for ingredients and formulas and assess for enhanced system performance.
Education Requirements:  Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related science field.  Master’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
Related Work Experience:  3-5 years relevant work experience working with food product formulas and ingredient specifications.  Ability to perform in a challenging, dynamic and changing environment.  Must be a self-starter, service minded and team player.  Must be organized and detailed-oriented with solid analytical skills.

Picasso Formula Management System:  Knowledge of formula data in Picasso.   Enters formulas or other information into the system, generates reports and recognizes inconsistencies.
Picasso Ingredient Management System:  Knowledge of ingredient data in Picasso.   Enters ingredients or other information into the system, generates reports and recognizes inconsistencies.
